Thompsons Africa offer safari viewing within the Chobe National Park on land in open safari vehicles and on the Chobe River in specially adapted safari boats. Both safari experiences are not to be missed and you are guaranteed to see elephant. Chobe boasts the Big Five, wild dog, cheetah and a simply marvelous array of antelope and other animal species. For birding enthusiasts, Chobe is 'bird heaven', their numbers sustained by the Chobe River.

Thompsons Africa also offer a day tour to Victoria Falls in either Zimbabwe or Zambia. Victoria Falls is just under a two hour road transfer from Chobe and is one of the natural wonders of the world, a status well deserved for its incredible beauty.

Victoria Falls Day Trip

This tour includes a full tour of the magnificent Victoria Falls and then a visit to the Craft Village where guests can barter and bargain hunt for souvenirs to take back home. After we stop for lunch (not included and for your additional account) we allow some free time for visiting the small town of Victoria Falls, which is always abuzz with activity, before returning to Botswana.

Walk through the rain forest (which is a result of the fine spray that covers the area from literally millions of litres of water that tumble over 'The Falls' and crash into the dramatic gorge below) - a fun experience and quite beautiful.
Stop at several vantage points to view: Main Falls; Horseshoe Falls; Rainbow Falls; The Boiling Pot; Cataract Island and Livingstone Island.
Witness the spray and thunderous noise, as millions of litres of water tumble over 'The Falls' in a series of narrow gorges below.
