The Lodge is situated on 1700 hectares of private nature reserve, in the heart of the Floral Kingdom, with incredible views over Walker Bay.

Accommodation

Luxury suites, set amongst indigenous gardens with sweeping views of Walker Bay, provide privacy and supreme comfort. The 13 individual luxury suites, each have en-suite, spacious sunny bathrooms, and separate living rooms with cosy fireplaces, and mini bars. Large wooden decks are standard features in all suites.

Grootbos provides nature lovers with a unique opportunity to explore the wonders of the Cape's beautiful flora and fascinating coastal and marine life. Dedicated conservationists accompany guests daily on botanical tours and nature trails, 4x4 drives, horse riding expeditions and boat tours, to view the Cape Fur Seal and African Penguin. A magnificent 30km coastline provides secluded swimming areas, white sandy beaches and fascinating archaeological caves. From July to mid-December marvel at close-up encounters with Southern Right Whales from land, or during boat-based whale watching adventures. Gourmet catering and fine wines are served by candlelight in the warm African décor of the thatched lodge.
