Day 1: Arrive Durban On arrival at Durban International Airport a Thompsons Representative will meet and assist you with the collection of your hired vehicle. Travel north to the town of St Lucia, situated in the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park (iSimangaliso Wetland Park). Recognised as one of the world's most spectacular conservation areas, the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park (iSimangaliso Wetland Park) is a World Heritage Site. Should you wish to stay at Makatana Bay Lodge, the below activities are not included as clients will be able to enjoy the many scheduled game activities the lodge provides.
Day 2: Zululand Safari There are many activities to do within this beautiful area. Today, enjoy an exciting full day game drive to South Africa's oldest game reserve - Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park. Rich in both cultural and conservation history and successful in its endeavor to save the white rhino from extinction, enjoy a diverse reserve with incredible scenic beauty. All of the 'Big Five' as well as all the general game species are present.
Day 3: St Lucia Today enjoy a scenic boat cruise on the St Lucia Estuary viewing hippo, crocodile and a huge diversity of bird life from the boat. During the months November to March, it is highly recommended to take part in the St Lucia Turtle Tour (seasonal). The tour includes a night drive through the Eastern Shores Game Reserve, a drive on the beach, as well as the opportunity to walk on the beach searching for leatherback and loggerhead turtles returning to their birthplace to lay their own eggs and later in the season see the hatchlings making a dash to the ocean.
Day 4: Depart Durban Return to Durban and drop off your hired vehicle at Durban International Airport, after exploring this World Heritage Site.
