Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a UNESCO protected World Heritage Site, is a huge sunken crater, with 2000 foot sheer walls, which create a spectacular natural amphitheatre. It houses a diverse range of eco-systems and visitors have a very good chance of spotting all of the 'Big Five' on any given day. Situated between Lake Manyara and the Serengeti National Park, the area comprises the Ngorongoro Crater itslef and Olduvai Gorge, the cradle of mankind.

Itinerary

Highlights

Day 1: Arrive Kilimanjaro / Ngorongoro
Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport and board your onward air transfer westwards to the protected World Heritage Site, the Ngorongoro Crater. The crater is the largest caldera in the world and the floor of the crater lies 610 metres below the rim. The Ngorongoro Crater is judged by many to be a true natural wonder of the world, incomparable to anything else on earth!

Day 2: Ngorongoro
Descend to the crater floor for game viewing and sightseeing. The wildlife found in the area, includes over 25 000 larger animals, mostly zebra and wildebeest, living within the crater itself. This is also undoubtedly one of the best places to see black rhino as well as large prides of lion. Other game to look out for includes leopard, cheetah, hyena, warthog, buffalo, eland and antelope.

Day 3: Ngorongoro / Kilimanjaro
Depart Ngorongoro and transfer by air back to Kilimanjaro Airport for your onward arrangements.

Please Note: We have not included a pre or post-night in Arusha, as scheduled air transfers connect with most international arrivals and departure into Kilimanjaro.
