In the technology driven business world of today, it is essential that you are proficient in basic software programmes, at Thompsons every new employee is automatically seen through our 'Thompsons Essentials Training Course' where you have opportunity of enchancing your skills in the use of the following vitally important programmes: • Microsoft Outlook (email system) • Word • Excel • Internet and Intranet • Faxsys (faxing from your computer) • Allocation Information System (an internal programme desgned to manage our allocation held with suppliers) A fantastic course, giving you the knowledge and confidence to perform your daily tasks and functions in your newly appointed position.
Consultant training At Thompsons we welcome experienced consultants and recognise their proven skills however we continue to enhance their ablity through our Thompsons Essentials training and in addition each division of the business run comprehensive training programmes highlighting our procedures, covering the "how to perform the required job". As part of this is training on our fantastic inhouse reservations system - Talisman.
• destination training, consultants need to be professionals in terms of the destinations they sell. The operators and retail agent book through Thompsons for that very reason they are looking for our expert advise. With this in mind we train giving insight into tourist areas, why people want the travel there, what they should see and the logistics of travelling to and around these destinations. • product knowledge sessions, we constantly have suppliers visiting our offices, coming to educate us about their product. They communicate any updates, educating us on special deals or informing us of new and exciting products and offerings. This is very important to stay at the forefront of new and exciting changes, it gives us an innovative edge in the industry. • systems training To provide our clients with the most efficient service we need to continually update and improve our systems, in the case of updates or new systems we of course ensure that all staff on trained in order to utilise it to its full potential.
