In the far north of Mozambique lies Pemba Bay, the third largest natural bay in the world and the heart of Pemba city. Thanks to the modern port, the international airport, world-class hotels and restaurants, the charm of the old city, coupled with fantastic diving and fishing. Pemba is a tourist heaven.
To the north lies the Quirimbas Archipelago, made up of 32 coral islands including the tiny resort islands of Matemo and Medjumbe, offering the ultimate tropical island getaway – intimate, personal, romantic and very private. This area has never been developed and remains mostly an unexplored paradise.
Upon arrival at Pemba International Airport, you will be met by a representative from Pemba Beach Hotel and Spa and transferred by road to the hotel.
Duration: approximately 5 minutes. It is advisable to stay overnight at Pemba before transferring to islands.
How to get to Matemo Island: The island is accessed from Pemba by light aircraft (transfer duration approximately 20 minutes flight).
Access to Medjumbe Private Island is via a scenic light aircraft transfer from Pemba Airport - 45 minutes in duration.

Day 1: Arrive Pemba
On arrival at Pemba Airport today transfer to Pemba Beach Hotel set in lush tropical gardens on the unspoilt Mozambican coastline.
Day 2-5: Matemo / Medjumbe
Return to Pemba Airport today for your onward air transfer to Matemo or Medjumbe Island Resort. Situated in the magnificent Quirimbas Archipelago off the coast of northern Mozambique, the remote Islands of Matemo and Medjumbe offer an island holiday of unspoilt beauty, breathtaking scenery, spectacular marine life and extreme relaxation.
Day 6: Depart Pemba
Depart the island by air transfer back to Pemba Airport, where you connect with your onward flight.
