Day 1: Arrive Sossusvlei
Travel to one of the top destination is Namibia - Sossusvlei with its monumental dunes, up to 325m when measured from the base. These star-shaped dunes are a sought-after topic for artists and photographers. Formed by strong multi-directional wind, they are their highest and most spectacular where the west-flowing Tsauchab River empties itself into the vlei. The warm tints of the sand, ranging apricot to orange, red and maroon, contrast vividly with the dazzling white surfaces of the large deflationary clay pans at their bases.
Day 2: Sossusvlei
The best time to view Sossusvlei is at sunrise, the colours are strong and constantly changing, allowing for wonderful photographic opportunities. The climb to the top of the dunes can be gruelling under the heat of the sun, but is worth it for the magnificent views!
Day 3: Depart Sossusvlei
After breakfast depart Sossusvlei for your onward journey.
