Day 1: Arrive Durban
On arrival at Durban International Airport, a Thompsons Representative will meet and assist you to your hotel transfer. Umhlanga is a coastal playground, just north of Durban.
Day 2: Durban Highlights
This morning depart on a full day Durban Highlights Tour. Durban is only 20 minutes from the seaside town of Umhlanga. It is a fascinating city, shaped by the early Colonial Settlers, the indigenous Zulu population and the Indians who arrived as labourers in the 19th Century. Drive along and view the ‘Golden Mile’, visit the Phansi Museum, home to a collection of Southern African artifacts and traditions, stop at Durban’s Botanic Gardens, discover the rich Indian history of Durban and finally, enjoy the spectacular and entertaining dolphin, seal and penguin shows on offer by uShaka Marine World. uShaka Marine World is packed with over 30 indoor and outdoor themed exhibits.
Day 3: Depart Umhlanga
After breakfast you will be transferred to Durban International Airport for your onward journey.
Although Umhlanga is a coastal holiday hotspot, it is also considered a City Stopover due to its close proximity to Durban’s City Centre.
** GATEWAY THEATRE OF SHOPPING Situated close to Umhlanga, Gateway is more than a shopping mall – it is billed as a ‘Theatre of Shopping’. The impressive structure houses a vast array of shops, cinemas and restaurants plus a huge wave pool, a mega skate park, the highest climbing wall imaginable, a go-kart track, putt-putt course and a challenging 4x4 track.
