Day 1: Arrive Cape Town / Winelands
Meet your private guide this morning and head off into the beauty of the Cape Winelands. Your first stop is Stellenbosch, where you explore this historic town (the second oldest in South Africa) on foot. Continue via the picturesque town of Paarl and several well known wine farms before arriving at Franschhoek, founded by the Huguenots four centuries ago.
Day 2: Winelands / Montagu
Drive towards the area known as the ‘Little Karoo’, passing through the town of Robertson and the spectacular Kogmanskloof Pass, travelling on the ‘Route 62’ (South Africa’s equivalent of the famous Route 66 in America), before arriving in Montagu.
Day 3: Montagu / Oudtshoorn
Follow ‘Route 62’, one of the most beautiful travel routes in South Africa, as well as one of the least known and least travelled ones, making your way through the pretty village of Barrydale. After a tea stop (own account), continue to Oudtshoorn. Enjoy an ostrich farm tour!
Day 4: Oudtshoorn / Knysna
This morning you have a chance to explore the area in and around Oudtshoorn, visit the Cango Caves, before travelling along the scenic Outeniqua Pass to Knysna.
Day 5: Knysna
Visit the Knysna Waterfront and take a ferry cruise to the Featherbed Nature Reserve. Enjoy lunch at the ‘Food Forest’. This afternoon explore the seaside town of Plettenberg Bay and the Tsitsikamma Forest, a coastal forested area of immense beauty.
Day 6: Knysna / Hermanus
This morning set off back along the Garden Route, which is well known for its lush green countryside, endless stretches of beach, rocky shore-lines, lakes, winding rivers and mountain passes, to Hermanus - the whale watching capital of Africa. Hermanus is renowned for the best land based whale watching! (Seasonal - May and November).
Day 7: Knysna / Cape Town
Travel back to Cape Town and stop at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, before driving into the city where your guide will drop you off either at your hotel or the airport.
