Day 1: Arrive Cape Town
On arrival at Cape Town International Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel where you have the remainder of the day at leisure. We suggest a visit to the V&A Waterfront, or a Cable Car ride up Table Mountain.
Day 2-4: Volunteering in Cape Town
Over then next few days you will be more than a tourist is this city of stunning contrasts and breathtaking landscapes, you will be assisting within the rural communities that suffer from lack of facilities. The Red Hill Community Pre-School - this little school has been running for over 10 years and accommodates 20 children from the community. The children range between 1 and 6 years of age, and mostly come from a Xhosa background. The school, run out of several ‘containers’, has very limited resources. The children are given 2 meals a day – breakfast and lunch.
As a volunteer, you will assist with fixing fences and windows, and rebuilding and painting classrooms. It is hard, but highly rewarding work! In addition, you will be involved with refurbishing and painting existing classrooms and ‘containers’.
Day 5: Depart Cape Town
After a leisurely breakfast, you will be transferred back to Cape Town International Airport in time for your onward journey.
