Day 1: Arrive Livingstone
On arrival at Livingstone Airport a Thompsons Representative will meet and transfer you to your hotel. This afternoon enjoy a romantic sundowner cruise on the Zambezi River on board the African Queen.
Day 2-4: Volunteering in Livingstone
Situated a stone’s throw away from the glorious Victoria Falls, the ‘adventure capital of Africa’, one of the seven natural wonders of the world and on the banks of the Zambezi River, are the Livingstone Community development projects. You will have the opportunity to work in the local community, to be challenged and to explore new facets of life, and to have the privilege of leaving your mark on a corner of Africa.
Schools and medical facilities in Livingstone deal with a great shortage of classrooms and wards, as a volunteer, you will help with mixing cement, laying bricks, laying floors, plastering walls, and painting. It is hard, but highly rewarding work! In addition, we refurbish and paint existing classrooms and other buildings for medical establishments.
Day 5: Depart Livingstone
This morning, depart on a tour to Victoria Falls, and see 650 million litres of water from the Zambezi River crash into the chasm below, from some of the many vantage points on numerous paths. Afterwards you will be transferred back to Livingstone Airport for your onward journey.
