Experience the legendary Kruger National Park, home to the magnificent ‘Big Five’ animals of the world, and a host of others besides...147 species of mammal, and over 500 bird species. Our specialist tour into this famous reserve is in specially modified, open safari vehicles, both to enhance your game viewing, and to provide the finest, unimpeded vantage points for photography and bird watching. There’s little between you and your subject! Our qualified experienced guides will undoubtedly enhance the experience by their deep understanding of the bush and the movement and identification of animals and birds, something they will impart to you. You’ll not only relish the experience of being in the Kruger environment, but you’ll leave with gems of info you’d never have known before.  No children under 8 years, except on a private basis.

We’re up before the sun, to steal a march on the wildlife of Kruger National Park. They’re either just waking, or heading for bed. Led by a highly experienced Trails Ranger from our starting point, strap on our comfortable walking boots, and set off on foot to get up close and personal with game, big and small, and learn something precious about their world. Our ranger will teach us some bush skills, from animal tracking to bird and plant identification. It’s fun, it’s fascinating and you’ll fall in love with the sight, scents and wonderful sounds of the bush as the sun creeps up. Nobody knows what will be around the next corner, but rest assured, it’ll make your heart beat that little bit faster.  No children under 12 years.

Mpumalanga is a magnificent region, home to many of South Africa's most spectacular natural sights. We'll journey to the best of the best, visiting the legendary Blyde River Canyon, third largest in the world, and enjoy the never-ending Lowveld landscape from the ledge of God's Window. We visit the quaint, historical mining town of Pilgrim's Rest, and tuck into a delicious lunch at the famous Harrie's Pancakes. In the afternoon, we give ourselves time to explore the extraordinary rock formations of Bourke's Luck Potholes, one of nature's most intriguing creations. En-route back to Hazyview, time and weather permitting, guests have the opportunity (own account) to experience the Graskop Gorge lift tour which will take you 51 metres down along a cliff face into the mountain forest below.  Once at the bottom, a wooden walkway, rising and falling and crossing suspension bridges, will take guests along a 600 metre interpretation trail through the indigenous forest.  From canyons to potholes, Mpumalanga's a province of many splendid things! 

When the gates of Kruger National Park close at nightfall, we enter the Park in our open safari vehicle in the expert company of an experienced Ranger.  By the light of the moon – we hope - and a large powerful spotlight, we track the elusive nocturnal animals of Africa.  It’s a wonderful experience, and no matter what is to be seen or found on that night, the magic of the bush by starlight, is something unforgettable.  No children under 6 years.

Turn back the clock, and spend an evening with the original inhabitants of the Sabi River: the Shangaan people.  We set out as the sun sets, and visit the chief’s village, meet his family, and the sangoma.  In the Royal Kraal, we’ll be seated and treated to a wonderful performance of traditional song and dance, before enjoying a sumptuous traditional dinner. No finer way to open your eyes to other cultures. 

Enjoy a helicopter experience which includes the town of Hazyview as well as a few surrounding lodges along the Sabie river. You may even view hippo in the surrounding lodge dams or crocodiles at the Croc farm.  You will fly over Da Gama Dam which is the main reservoir in the area, and the banana plantations. Then fly over to Sabaan River Valley and Sabie river valley. Your will also be flown over citrus, mango, avocadoes, leech, macadamia and coffee crops. Finally, you will experience a fabulous view of the Northern Drakensberg mountains, and then return to Hazyview.

As the shadows lengthen and the heat of the day starts to cool, we set off on our exciting safari in an open safari vehicle with tiered seats. We enter the Kruger Park as the animals are waking up from their afternoon siesta, and they are hungry! They will be looking for their next meal and we hope to see the Big Five, and many other exciting animals. Keep your camera poised to capture that amazing photos of our sightings of the magnificent animals.  We arrive at our boma, set on the banks of the Phabeni River. Soak up the unique atmosphere of dinner in the bush, cooked African style over hot coals. We hope to see the usual abundance of animals coming to drink from the river. On the menu we have venison kebab, or stuffed mushrooms, traditional boerewors, chicken kebab, sirloin steak, pap and sheba, and a variety of salads and breads. Let us know if you prefer a vegetarian option!  After a delicious dinner we head back to Hazyview, hoping for more exciting animal sightings, and feeling privileged to have enjoyed this incredible African experience.
